Our Story

Every story has a beginning and ours started back in the ‘60s and ‘70’s when we first started gaming (hey, we are “Three OLD Guys”) and as nerds we realized that this was pretty cool stuff. Then ‘life’ happened and yada yada yada we found ourselves as grown up nerds thinking ‘it would be pretty amazing if we started our own business’. We then met with some really smart folks who got excited for us and helped us refine our plan, develop a website and generally pointed us in the right direction.

Early on we decided we wanted to be the kind of neighborhood hobby shop we used to visit when we were teen nerds, only better. So not only do we carry board wargames and miniatures, but also RPGs, story games, a selection of books, and even regular family board games for your friends and family. We also decided that we wanted to be a one-stop shop for the serious gamer, with not only the miniatures and games you want, but also with the paints, tools (paint brushes and accessories, sculpting tools, etc), scenery (and the equipment you need to apply them properly – looking at you, static grass!), reference material (books), accessories and supplies you need to make your gaming or modeling hobby really come alive on the table. That also includes things like dice (lots of dice!) dice bags, dice towers, gaming table items, and anything you can imagine to take your gaming experience to the next level. If you don’t see something you want or need – ask us! We can always do special orders, and if it’s a good item, we can probably start stocking it.  And if you are an indie game company or publisher without much exposure, and would like us to carry your products, contact us!  We can work something out that will benefit both you and us and our hobby.

And now here we are, the newest kids on a crowded block. Give us a chance to be your ‘go to’ hobby business and help us grow to better serve you.

About Me

I started gaming in the mid 1970’s. Back then I played countless hours of games such as those by Avalon Hill, SPI, TSR and others. Painting minis and building models went hand in hand as I always needed more adventurers or another platoon of Tigers to take on those pesky Shermans and T-34s.

My war gaming days took a brief time-out during a short 20+ year career in the Army followed by overseas contracting. These days I now have the time to rekindle my passion for the hobby and to have regular weekend cookouts with friends and family.

About Me

My first steps into wargaming began when I ordered a set of American and British revolutionary war soldiers from a comic book for the then princely sum of $5.00. The soft plastic soldiers in red and blue faced storms of toothpicks as they charged across the carpet to their objectives. From this I ventured into wargames from Avalon Hill, SPI and others. Miniature Napoleonic armies swept across the battlefields and stout adventurers crawled through forgotten dungeons or faced existential cosmic threats.  Life, as is its wont, soon enough raised its head demanding attention and thus began journeys from working in a shipping company, learning to cut and mount eyeglass lenses, fitting contacts to running the front office of an optometrist's office. Now there is time to dust off the French and their monarchist adversaries, revisit dungeons and to face down the cultists trying to raise drowned R'lyeh.

About Me

I first began gaming in 1967 with my older brother who received Avalon Hill’s Afrika Korps game for Christmas that year.  Over the years, I’ve played hundreds of games ranging from board war games (and more mainstream board games too, of course) to RPGs, and everything in between, giving me 55 years of personal experience in the board and wargaming hobby, plus 45 years of experience with the Roleplaying game hobby. I’ve helped edit war and roleplaying games for Steve Jackson, Cubicle 7, and several other gaming companies over the years.  I did spend a few years on vacation from gaming, serving in the USAF, from which I retired in 2004.  Then, a couple of years ago, two of my very oldest and best friends suggested we join forces and launch this new and exciting venture in gaming!  Living the dream!
